Privacy Policy

How we handle account data, AI learning content, payments, and shared scenes.

Last updated: 2026-10-28

About this policy

This policy explains how LinguaFlick ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use our language-learning website, create AI scenes, or view shared content. Contact us at support@linguaflick.com for privacy questions or requests.

Information we process

  • Accounts: your name, email, profile image, language preferences, and sign-in/session records. If you choose a supported third-party sign-in option, we receive the profile information needed to create and authenticate your account. Email/password sign-in uses a password hash rather than storing your password in readable form.
  • Learning content: words and phrases you enter; learning and native languages; scene choices; generated scripts, translations, images, and synthetic audio; production progress; phrase lookups and favorites; and reactions or feedback you submit.
  • Billing: orders, subscription status, payment references, credit grants and consumption, and refund/cancellation records. Payment providers process payment credentials; we do not store full payment-card numbers.
  • Technical and support records: IP address and browser/request information available to our hosting services, error and security logs, and messages or attachments you send to support.

Please avoid entering passwords, API keys, sensitive personal records, or someone else's private information into learning prompts or feedback.

Why we use information

We use this information to authenticate users, generate and play learning content, save progress, provide phrase explanations, maintain the library, deliver account emails, handle payments and credits, respond to support requests, and protect the service against abuse and fraud.

Where a legal basis is required, providing requested features and handling purchases relies on performing our contract with you; security and troubleshooting rely on our legitimate interests; financial recordkeeping may be required by law. Processing that legally requires consent relies on that consent, which you may withdraw without affecting earlier lawful processing.

AI and other service providers

Providing a requested feature involves sending relevant information to service providers:

  • OpenAI: vocabulary and scene prompts for text and image generation, and dialogue text for synthetic speech. We use the generated results to provide your learning scenes.
  • DeepSeek: selected phrases, relevant sentence context, and language settings when you request an AI phrase explanation.
  • Cloudflare and database/storage providers: website delivery, security, application records, and generated media. The production service uses Cloudflare and a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon.
  • Resend: recipient email address and message content for account verification, password resets, and other service emails when sent.
  • Payment and sign-in providers: information needed for the payment processor identified at checkout or the sign-in provider you select.

We do not send your account password or payment-card details as part of AI learning prompts. Provider handling and retention depend on the applicable service and contract. For example, OpenAI describes API training and retention controls in its API data policy; this is not a promise that every provider has zero retention.

Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States and, for DeepSeek, China. Where applicable law requires safeguards or separate consent for a transfer, those requirements apply. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements relevant to your use.

We do not sell personal information. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse, or to protect users and the service.

Sharing and media links

If you create or distribute a share link or embed, people with that link can view the shared scene, including its title, description, images, audio, and captions. They may copy, download, embed, or redistribute what they can access. Do not share content you want to keep confidential.

Media may be delivered through public CDN/storage URLs. Someone who obtains a public media URL may be able to access that file independently of the application page. Deleting a project makes its application share pages unavailable, but does not recall copies already saved elsewhere or necessarily erase stored media immediately.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies and browser storage for sign-in, language and theme preferences, and locally saved learning drafts or playback preferences. Clearing browser storage can remove drafts and preferences; blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in. If optional analytics are enabled, they may process usage and device information; consent is required before their use wherever applicable law requires it. Accepting the service terms alone is not consent to optional tracking.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and learning records while needed to provide saved content and support your use. Retention also depends on payment/accounting obligations, security investigations, dispute resolution, and backup recovery needs.

Deleting a library project removes it from active views; it is not an immediate permanent erasure of all database records, media, or backups. To request account closure or permanent erasure, email support@linguaflick.com. We will assess the request under applicable law and explain any records that must be retained. Provider-held records may follow separate retention requirements.

Your choices and rights

You can update supported profile/language settings, manage subscriptions in billing settings, delete library projects, and clear local browser storage. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, erase, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data-protection authority.

Send privacy requests to support@linguaflick.com. We may need reasonable information to verify account ownership. Never email your password or API keys. We respond within the time required by applicable law; not every privacy action is available as a self-service button.

Security and younger users

We use transport encryption and account/access controls, but cannot guarantee absolute security. The service is not designed to collect children's personal information. If local law requires a parent or guardian's consent for your use, obtain it before providing personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information without the required consent.

Policy changes

We will update the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice for material changes where required. Questions and requests can be sent to support@linguaflick.com.
